Becca and Shane’s Wedding at The Scenic Hotel
Becca and Shane - absolutely delighted to have rose petals thrown into their smiling faces, as they exit Norton Summit Anglican Church as the same people they were before they entered, except now, also married.
“Drawn to the Adelaide Hills, we found the perfect balance of ease and personality at The Scenic Hotel. The food and booze are top notch, and the staff are all-stars, not to mention the vibe and view. Our wedding wouldn’t have been as special or felt as ‘us’ if it had been anywhere else.”
Love is in the Air at This Beautiful Cottagecore Ceremony and Celebration
Becca an art curator, and Shane, a director of a design firm, are two seriously impressive humans. It’s only fitting that their wedding was equally impressive.
Becca says that “after being committed to one another for over a decade, buying a house, and raising two gnarly pugs, marriage seemed a little obsolete. But WHO doesn’t love a wedding?”
Inspired by “the grandeur of royal weddings - the flowers, the church, Princess Diana’s dress, and the two greatest wedding movies of the 90s: Father of the Bride, and Four Weddings and a Funeral”, this one did not disappoint. Think modern delightful cottagecore, but fancy af.
Honourable mention goes out to a couple of elements here:
- THE LOCATION: The Scenic Hotel, and St John’s Anglican Church are literally across the road from each other. Resting atop the hill of Norton Summit. 11/5 points for not only convenience, but also how bloody charming this little Adelaide Hills secret spot really it.
- Becca’s vintage Laura Ashley cotton gown - the ‘Cressida’ from 1983
- THE MOST incredible flower arch installation at the Norton Summit Anglican Church entrance created by none other than the genius that is Louise Woodhouse
- Their first dance. Honestly, a seriously joyous, core-memory, positively life affirming, and hilarious experience. EVERY guest piled onto the dance floor to shower Becca and Shane with confetti while THIS SONG BLASTED.
Just quietly, if you’ve stumbled across this page because you’re looking into The Scenic Hotel for your wedding venue, I have two things to say, 1. DO IT - you won’t regret, and 2., I am sorry (not sorry) if the Scenic Hotel now have a no-confetti policy. It is almost definitely because of us. 🥸
